Pekalongan (16/7),  the second team of Community Service Program from Diponegoro University conducted a socialization activity titled “How to Recognize Fresh Fish and Slow Down Fish Spoilage” at the Blimbingwuluh Village Hall, Siwalan Subdistrict, Pekalongan Regency on Tuesday (16/07/24). The purpose of this socialization activity, carried out by the KKN team, is to provide practical education to the community, especially the mothers of Blimbingwuluh Village, on how to differentiate between fresh and less fresh fish, as well as how to slow down fish spoilage in order to improve the quality of fish consumption and reduce the risk of rapid deterioration in fish quality.

The women of Blimbingwuluh Village often buy fish for consumption, but their knowledge about distinguishing fresh and less fresh fish is limited, and they are not yet aware of the proper methods to slow down fish spoilage. Through this socialization, the students of Community Service Program Team II from Undip aim to provide easily applicable solutions so that the women of Blimbingwuluh Village can choose fresh and high-quality fish when buying at the market.

Socialization activities were conducted at the Blimbingwuluh Village Hall, attended by approximately 12 women who are village cadres of Blimbingwuluh. Priyas Handayani conducted the socialization by explaining the characteristics of fresh and less fresh fish, factors influencing quality deterioration, and methods to slow down fish spoilage.

The cadres of Blimbingwuluh Village are very enthusiastic about participating in every socialization session. During the question and answer session, the cadre mothers actively asked questions and recorded some important information explained by the students. The socialization activity ended with the distribution of door prizes and group photos.
