Semarang (20/9), Forum Pimpinan Perguruan Tinggi Perikanan dan Kelautan Indonesia (FP2TPKI) which is a forum for all leaders who have Faculties, or Study Programs in the field of fisheries and marine affairs in Indonesia held a meeting in September 2022. And on this occasion, the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) of Universitas Diponegoro hosted the event.
The series of events carried out, in addition to the FP2TPKI meeting, there was also a National Seminar entitled “Society 5.0 and Disaster Resilience for Sustainable Coastal Development” and also the International Conference on Tropical and Coastal Region Eco-development with the theme “Society 5.0 and Disaster Resilience for Sustainable Coastal Develoment”.
At this event, there was a keynote speaker, namely Ir, Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, M.M., IPU. In addition, it was also attended by the Governor of Central Java, H. Ganjar Pranowo, S.H., M.I.P. The Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries conveyed about 5 blue economy programs. These programs are considered important to optimize sustainable coastal development in an effort to boost the welfare of coastal communities.
“The implementation of the Blue Economy is expected to reduce the threat of ecological damage due to various economic activities that utilize the sea,” said Minister Trenggono when he was the keynote speaker at the Indonesian Fisheries and Marine College Leadership Forum and a National Seminar entitled Society 5.0 and Disaster Resilience for Sustainable Coastal Development at prof. Soedarto Building, Diponegoro University this morning, Tuesday (20/9).
5 (five) main blue economy-based programs that balance environmental and economic interests, including, first, the expansion of marine conservation areas. Second, quota-based measured fishing in 6 (six) zones set by the government. Third, improving sustainable aquaculture by encouraging the development of superior commodities. Fourth, in order to ensure that coastal areas and small islands are well maintained, the government carries out the arrangement of marine, coastal, and small islands, including ensuring activities that utilize marine space in accordance with the allocation, carrying capacity, and mitigation of impacts. Then the last one is to maintain the health of the sea, one of the main programs of the MPA is the Month of Love of the Sea. This program is implemented through action to clean up marine debris in Indonesia by involving fishermen.
