Semarang (6/11), Tanoto Foundation established the Tanoto Student Research Award (TSRA) program as a means of fostering individual potential, creating a potent next generation of Indonesian leaders, raising educational standards, and raising people’s standard of living. The Bandung Institute of Technology and TSRA 2022 collaborate on an Interdisciplinary Capstone Design Challenge (ICDC) project.

Pranata Candra Perdana Putra, an S1 student in the Department of Capture Fisheries at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, was chosen as one of the 25 delegates after being chosen at several levels. In an increasingly difficult and rapidly changing global environment, TSRA 2022 is a student invention challenge to provide practical answers for society. Activities are conducted out as multidisciplinary cooperation, where participants in TSRA 2022 from different disciplinary backgrounds collaborate to develop creative community solutions. Students from various institutions, study programs, and faculties representing a range of subjects in the humanities, social sciences, and the arts make up the group team that comprises all TSRA 2022 participants.

One of Diponegoro University’s delegates won a gold medal in the interdisciplinary capstone design challenge with the help of the GALAKSI (Gagasan Laksana Terintegrasi) educational teaching aid in the field of astronomical science connected to an electronic system in the form of the Internet of Things (IoT) that can be used as a teaching aid for elementary-junior high-high school students in understanding the science of the solar system. Pranata was pleased with this accomplishment since it allowed him to build on his success after winning Silver Medals at the Indonesia Inventors Day (IID) competition a few weeks earlier at Udaya University in Bali.

Parents, Capture Fisheries instructors, and the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences all contributed to the institution’s successes, which cannot be separated from them. Although we believe that the field of research is available to anybody who wants to work in it, it is anticipated that the accomplishments that have been made can serve as the first step toward becoming the forefront in a variety of areas. Pranata stated that we owe this accomplishment to my department, Capture Fisheries, for its commitment to guiding me over the course of these three years. Hopefully, the accomplishments I have made can serve as a model for other students, both inside the Department and Faculty.
